The second step to becoming an Oaks Ambassador is GIVING!

Jesus as our King asks us to carefully consider how we manage our time, talent and treasure. What have you given to the King to help continue the ministry of The Oaks so people can continue to meet Him in the mountains, and grow in their discipleship at retreats and camps? So many in the city don't have opportunities to get away. The Oaks makes a way!

The Lord led my family and I to give more to a charitable cause than we ever have, he also led me to take a leave of absence to pursue this mission full time, and I am so thankful He has given me the education and experiences I needed to give back for this vision.

Bill's Story | My Life Changed At Camp

Bill grew up in a Christian home, knew about Jesus, and even went to Christian school. But he decided he couldn't live like a Christian and walked away from God. Life got hard and grew very dark: Divorce. Lost his house. Lost his money. Lost his vehicles. Lost every possession he owned.

In this darkest of times, Bill realized he needed help and sought counseling at a local church. But the counselor's stipulation was, "You have to go on our men's retreat!"

The night before the retreat, Bill was super fearful of what was happening through the divorce and he knew that he just couldn’t make it without God. He prayed, "God, I need your protection. God, if you carry me through the night, I'll go on that retreat!" He slept through the night like a baby. At the same time, not known to Bill, God awoke an Oaks staff member at 10:30pm and told this staff member to pray for someone coming to The Oaks that weekend! That person was Bill. Long story short - Bill committed his life to Jesus, joined a church and got involved in ministry. Since then he has come on many more retreats. Today, Bill is alive in Jesus because he met Jesus at The Oaks.

Bill recently heard that The Oaks was for sale and it broke his heart. He responded and connected with Save The Oaks - thank you Bill for GIVING all your encouragement and amazing support!
