The loss of The Oaks to the church of Southern California is significant. Over 18,000 people came to The Oaks in 2019. The gates are closed. The fields are silent. Let's work together and witness how God changes lives now and forever through camp - just like in Bill's story below!

Bill’s Story | My Life Changed At Camp

Bill grew up in a Christian home, knew about Jesus, and even went to Christian school. But he decided he couldn't live like a Christian and walked away from God. Life got hard and grew very dark: Divorce. Lost his house. Lost his money. Lost his vehicles. Lost every possession he owned.

In this darkest of times, Bill realized he needed help and sought counseling at a local church. But the counselor's stipulation was, "You have to go on our men's retreat!"

The night before the retreat, Bill was super fearful of what was happening through the divorce and he knew that he just couldn’t make it without God. He prayed, "God, I need your protection. God, if you carry me through the night, I'll go on that retreat!" He slept through the night like a baby. At the same time, not known to Bill, God awoke an Oaks staff member at 10:30pm and told this staff member to pray for someone coming to The Oaks that weekend! That person was Bill. Long story short - Bill committed his life to Jesus! Joined a church. Got involved in ministry. And since then has come on many more retreats. Today Bill is alive in Jesus because he met Jesus at The Oaks.
